So I picked up a Taito SI that is having some board issues. I wasn't sure if this was one of those RAM issues that one sees and can easily diagnose or if I will be spending many lonely nights hunched over a table with my voltage meter.
When the game turns on I can here a SI like sound that just loops and the screen displays this wavy image. Sometimes it slows to a near stop, but mostly it just rolls/is wavy.
After I awoke from my wavy monitor induced seizure I was able to snap some photos.
*Also, though the boards have a Taito label and serial number they are stamped Midway made in the USA. I am not sure if it would make a difference if someone put US boards in it.
