I've been meaning to write this for some time, finally took a morning to finish up the first part of it. It is by no means complete, but hopefully a good starting point for those interested in Taito's Qix based games (Electric Yo-Yo, Space Dungeon, Kram, Zoo Keeper) and how to fix them.

Some of this information is spread out over the web already, my goal is make this into a comprehensive document, but I had to start somewhere, here goes:

Thanks for doing this. Always nice to see repair info on the internet..

Yeah I'm working on two sets myself...both worked and then didn't and then worked again...various repairs have been made as we move along..hoping eventually to get them both done and have a spare set...the cab I have is home use only and a real gem..its shame the game isn't working right now...:D

This is great, thanks. I have a Zoo Keeper that works except for the color white doesn't show up on the graphics. I guess something is wrong on that giant video processor board...

These repair logs are great info for sure! I've got two dead/untested Qix boardsets I'm attempting to resurrect. However, lots of acid damage on both sets..

I noticed at the end of the write up linked above there was mention of a future document about How to build a Test Rig for Qix/ZK? Anyone know if that ever materialized and not what tips/tricks might be useful?

I'm in the process of figuring out exactly what minimally needs to be plugged in before I power them on. All boards needed? All interconnects? I'm missing the 50 pin IDC interconnect ribbon cables on one of the sets so I'll be either finding/buying or making some of those eventually. 50 pin SCSI cables should work right? The one remaining set is pretty old and these ribbon cables are the first item listed as being major causes of problems with these boards.
