Hi all. Was considering adding an Elevator action but due to space considerations, have not done it yet.

I do have a Nice Frontline. CanI just rotate the monitor from vertical to horiztonal, switch out the marquee / bezel / CP / PCB, and i am good to go?

(of course i need to find the CP, Marquee, bezel and PCB).

I should have posted my disclaimer (thought about it earlier but forgot to type it!): Of course, my Frontline is my baby, i dont want to compromise it any way except for a reversible change that cannot be detected. Anything other than that, and i will just buy an EA.

I ask because i am curious if its just a remount (simple take monitor out, put back monitor in different orientation), and thats it and swapping in and out interchangeable parts. When i "tire" of EA i will put it back to FL and vice versa (not that i am tired of FL!). If theres more too it (like hacking the cab) FORGET IT.

Thats why i post - to see if i am going down a road i dont want to go down. Thanks.

Hmmm, also looking at the CP - different buttons on the FL than the EA - although in theory both games both have two buttons (fire and push to fire / fire and jump).

In anycase, guess the idea is fleeting / might as well add an EA, unless someone chimes in....

I believe taitos should have the monitor frame that mounts both ways so in that respect you just rotate the monitor. Off top of my head i believe they are the same style of board set so if that's accurate then the boards can be swapped. You may need a different cp and I'm not sure but if the # of buttons are different then you might need to add a couple additional wires to make it work. I believe in theory it should be doable though.

No .

So i took a deeper look - as noted, the frame allows for mounting horiz vs vertical. Thats good, but the CP wiring would be the problem i think - as an EA harness is probably different than the FL. So, forget the idea. Oh well, the search for an EA (and space) continues.
