Put this across on the UK forum that I frequent and had good interest, so thought I'd mention it on here too
Thinking of putting together some of the lower cash/vault doors that are quite often lost since they're not on a fixed hinge.
I've had a test one temporary put together and it looks pretty good:
The repro is the one with the key barrel installed:
The rust is wipeable from my test door - it's just was left from the water cutter.
The material is the same as original (mild steel), as with the thickness (2mm) so it's the same strength.
The folds on the inside only differ slightly for the ease of making - much easier than original!
Thinking of supplying them as is (bare metal) and then another option to have them primed. I'm not sure of a final paint finish since the original is a slight marbling grey colour - so that'll probably be left up to yourselves.
