I'm getting ready to paint a Frontline cabinet using pok's stencils. I know that some of you have restored Taito cabinets and I have a couple of questions:

1. How do you hold the cabinet together to paint it? I think there are over 60 carriage bolts holding the cabinet together. I removed a LOT of them to sand the cabinet and it started to fall apart. I put it back together, but I don't want it to come apart when I paint it.

I'd like to keep it upright so I can paint both sides together. Any suggestions are appreciated.

2. Is there anyone here who's repainted a Frontline and has any color codes? I will do my best to color match if I have to, but would prefer to leech off of someone elses work. :D

I know that testor redid a Wild Western. Are the colors on it the reverse of a Frontline?

Thanks,

Hi - just did the same to my Frontline.

For holding the cab together - it doesnt just fall apart when you take the bolts out - although i would be careful when doing so. Its slotted and there are SMALL wood blocks holding it together. You can reglue those afterwards if they came loose (you will see them at the base / 2 on each side, one in front). I used a bolt in each corner to keep it steady, and just painted over that. Worked well.

For the colors - i took the marquee into the paint shop and color matched, lighting it up a little. It came out sweet. Otherwise, i couldnt find the codes elsewhere.

Check for / search for Frontline and see the effort if you want.

Good luck and send pics!
