Had a working double dragon and lost all power. Checked interlock switch have power.

Checked on off switch have power.
Checked have power on both sides of the rf filter.

Check fuses both good.
No AC power to the stock stepped power supply and no ac to the monitor.

What am I missing. ?

This is the stock taito power supply on a Double Dragon. Lost power can't find it....weird

I have a similar power issue with an operation wolf cabinet I just picked up. Opened up the OG power supply and 4 caps have leaked all over. Gonna start with a replacement power supply - will follow this thread to see how you make out

I think there's 2 interlocks, definitely know there's one for the drawer, but I think there's another to the back door. been awhile since I've been inside one.

Yeah, there's the drawer interlock.Switch to a better, make sure I didn't forget to push that in when I pulled the drawer and was testing. They see on the stuff power supply that would certainly kill it.

Turned on today and the marquee and the monitor powered up but no game. Put a new power supply(old one one I cannabalized) and game and everything fired up. Great.

Then thought it was fixed. Close everything back up and turned on and nothing again.

Def power supply issue. I think my power supply is cooked again for some reason but doesn't explain why the marquee and monitor are now not on again. Close

I'm gonna hardwire those switches and see
I don't remember how the drawer one is mounted but on most games where the switch has a NC pull out I just rotate the whole switch 90 degrees. it's useful for when working in the back of the game, you can flip that in and out to turn the game off and on lol rotating means you don't have to cross the streams and other potentially volatile things, and it's still kind of original.

I would look the JAMMA harness power wiring over, see if there's melted ground wires and check the coin door lamps also I'm not sure if those were powered off a transformer tap or not. I remember on the Double Dragon at my old-old job they only populated like half of the wires to like the parts side only, but there was also that junction block thing the wires went through too. that's fine for the low current stuff, but the power wires it's another point of failure. poor ground connections will nuke power supplies. the wiring from the JAMMA edge connector to the junction block is just long enough to reach the power supply directly. worst case scenario you wind up buying a Super JAMMA harness from Suzo-Happ or Twisted Quarter and replace it all.
