Hi All,

Might as well join in on the fun. I found a double dragon cab for sale on craigslist. The seller wanted something crazy for it, but told her I wanted to see it in person (up and running). Our schedules collided for a month now. Then the other day, the weather was good and had availability in our schedules.

She texted me saying that when she went to pick up the cabinet from storage, the bottom was rotted out and asked if I still wanted it. I made an as-is offer, and she accepted it.

When we met, I asked the story of the game. Basically her mom bought it years ago for the family. Mom died, and everyone grew up. They put this in storage for about a year. She told me it worked before they put it in storage. We exchanged funds and loaded into the van and took it to the workshop.

I'll continue to update this post until she's up and running again.

Got the cabinet to the warehouse last night. Couldn't set it straight up since the bottom is rotted out. Have no idea why there are two isolators. A set of wires runs to a power switch while the other might run to the monitor. Might have to ask folks around can i just rewire to a single isolator and using bob robert's design.

So last night I finally had time to build a base. i'm a bit under the weather and needed some activity to make me sleepy. Took some measurements and made a base with plywood and 2x4. My reasoning to make it "thick" is to screw in the sides of the cab to the base. Since I am going to bondo the bottom, I just lined the base up to the lowest point of any edge. Leveled and screwed it in.

Now I've been working on a Ms Pacman cab and got schooled. So when I was looking and the power supply and the isolator, I knew what I was doing. The existing power supply that was in there was destroyed. It looked like a trex tore it up. It might be salvageable, but I went ahead and replaced it with a new one. Disconnected the jammaboard and tested the power supply (was 5.2 and dialed it down). Fuses weren't broken but will need to be replaced. I heard a pop from the TV and knew I was in business.

Plugged the jamma harness back in, turn on the power and heard sound! I looked at the cab and saw a yellow/green screen.

I learned from John's Arcade that this could be a lose yoke/wires. I turned the cab off, pushed the yoke back in and reseated the cables.

This time, no sound BUT VIVID COLORS ON THE SCREEN!

So now I have to figure out why the sound is gone and clean up the screen and buttons (they're sticky).
