Does anyone know what control panel this game goes to. Its not a Alpine ski or Space Dungeon. the button in the upper right corner says accelerate. So there are no fire buttons

Perhaps a conversion. You will also notice the shroud is rotated in a weird way it looks like.

I thought that too, but the colors are Space Dungeon. Maybe Space Dungeon converted to Alpine Ski and then to something else. There are multiple holes around the center joystick. Haha.

This one has me stumped but all of those joystick bolt holes are clearly not original

@CharlieG sent me a video of this cabinet dilema, then gave me a friendly kick in the ass to remind me to check this video out again.

These early taito games are not something I really have done a deep dive on yet and there are guys out that that will always know far more about these than me. With that said I'm going to make a bit of a wild call here. I believe this a prototype or field test cabinet for a game called Pit & Run. It's basically a poor man's F1 racing game made in 1984. It features steering using a standard joystick, no brake pedal and a simple button off to the upper right labeled "accelerate". The only other pit and run that has ever been spotted was recently sold by CoinOp Amusements and picked up by Prince arcades which was in a converted zarzon taito Flat Top cabinet.

Supporting info:
  • Pit & Run is the only game from that taito era that has an accelerate button, p1-p2 start buttons and nothing else
  • It appears to have been a kit-only title
  • The game was released at the tail end of the Taito Slant-Top cabinet era
  • The coinOp amusements Taito Flat Top cabinet while unique, does not match the era. Your unique slant top matches the tail end of Taito's Slant-Top production.
