I was looking at some of the wear on the field and it looks like an overlay. I thought the original playfield was painted? I will take some pictures, but the way it feels/looks on the wear spots screams full overlay!

also: How do I adjust thing flips and where should the leveler bubble be? At the very bottom where no lines are?

OK, I am NOT an TAF expert, but all of the AF playfiels should be Diamondplated, i.e. a hard clearcoat applied at the factory over the art. It is possible, in addition, an operator installed full or partial mylar over that. You may be feeling the clearcoat that has worn through, or worn mylar over the clearcoat. Can't say for sure.

The bubble level: using the top of the meniscus - first line is 6 degrees, each line above that is another half degree. Generally most people keep it at 6.5-7.0 degrees (YMMV).

HT adjust Thing? No idea. Also try on

wow thats a great price and one I will have to jump on at the beginning of July if I can get him to do it! This thing looks to have a full overlay over the entire thing.

It's not an overlay, the playfield is screen printed just like the originals. I have one on my wall, nice field :)

There should be a setting inside the menu for "new location" for Thing. Be sure to level your machine before calibrating. Once you hit the new location you want to remove the glass and roll the ball in the left outlane to enable thing then roll the ball up and around the ramp for thing to flip it. It will read the hits on the swamp targets to calibrate it and dial it in. I did mine around 80 times and it's pretty damn accurate.
