Ok when I power the game on the top right flipper goes up "hard" and when I turn the game off it does the same thing. Anyone had this issue before and know which TIP36 or TIP102 needs to be changed? Also which board is the fliptronics board? pictures would be great!

The fliptronics board is in the upper left corner of the backbox. It could be a fliptronics 1 or II.

What you need is the WPC Schematics manual here:

http://www.pinrepair.com/wpc/wpc-89.pdf

There is one TIP36C and two TIP102s for each flipper. The TIP36C is the big transistor at the top of the board and the TIP102s are the smaller ones.

The Addams manual does not have schematics for the fliptronics boards in it but you need to read the manual because it will tell you which pins from the flippers lead to the connector on the fliptronics board.

So in the Addams manual the upper right flipper is connected to pins 4 and 6 on J902 (Or J802) (Page 3-10).

Jump to the WPC Schematics manual for the Fliptronics board (Page 13) and pins 4 and 6 lead to Q2 (TIP36C) and Q7/Q8 (TIP102s)

Test these transistors as described in Clay's guides (http://www.marvin3m.com/fix.htm). You will probably find that one of the lugs is shorted to ground (the top part of the transistor). Replace all three transistors regardless of which one tests bad.

BTW Fliptronics I boards will only work in Addams. You could technically buy a Fliptronics II board and it would work fine.

While I would tend to believe you have a bad TIP on your hands have you looked at the EOS on that flipper? If it flips when power is applied and then releases when power is off it could be either an EOS switch misadjusted and/or a bad IP transistor.

The guy I got it from didn't have time to fix the board, but we are 100% positive it is the board. The game was 100% working, but he gave his working board to a friend for his TAF for a party and took the broken board. Will be replacing diodes/transistors tonight.

Thanks hugh!

TAF works, but few issues!

Put the Fliptronics board from popeye in it and it worked! So got in touch with the guy and he gave me a fliptronics 2 board to use until I can either get the fliptronics 1 board issue figured out *everything has been replaced* or buy a new board.

New issues:
1: Right sling doesn't work. Could be dirty contacts or no contact but will check it in a bit.
2: The chair and swamp spit the ball back out really slow. How can I fix this so they shoot out harder/faster? Right now it is really soft/slow.
3: How do I turn the ball save on? I looked thru the menu stuff, but didn't see anything!

The swamp or chair kickout being slow is most likely a gummed up and/or damaged coil sleeve. Pull the coil assembly apart, remove the sleeve and clean with hot water and a q-tip. Also clean the bell plunger/plunger. Bell plungers become enlarged on the end and this also causes dragging against the coil sleeve. Might need a new plunger. Also graphite powder works nicely in coil sleeves.
Also I've notice that plunger links become worn out which having a link loose/wobbly takes power away from the plunger.

Does anyone sell an entire rebuild for the hole assemblies? Like coil, sleeve, plungers, and whatever else is needed?

I haven't even removed the glass yet so no clue what is going on, but just getting a really long list of parts together for when I have the cash.

There is no ball save on Addams unless you launch the ball and it goes right into the outhole.

The coils, sleeves and other misc parts you can buy many places. I like to buy from www.pinballlife.com.

Several places sell complete assy's. What is the assy part number in the manual?

That I will have to look into. I am hoping to start tearing into this tonight. Anyone else ever put a fliptronics 2 board in? I have one plug that isn't plugged in and I am thinking it controls the thing flips thing.

It's probably black wires correct? It doesn't need to be plugged in when using a Fliptronics 2 board. For reference (from Clay's guides)

Thing flips is a CPU controlled feature. The flipper coils can be driven by the CPU.

You don't need the entire assembly for the anything unless something is broken. Buy some sleeves, clean it up and those components will work fine.

Yeah Hugh it was the black wires. That is the guide I read to figure out that the FP2 board would work.

Those damn magnets in the PF are a bitch sometimes!
