Taco Bell Kids Meals

I just grabbed two sets at lunch today. Did anyone else notice they programmed the "burn in" on the screen of Asteroids?

Whenever I see a detail like that, I wonder if those involved in the project didn't "get it", or if they're extremely detail oriented?

The other similar feature to the burn-in on Taco Bell Asteroids is the lock bar bolt heads on the Hallmark Pac Ornament.

Just bought mine. They were the first ones out of the box. My local one isn't starting them till next week. The manager said they just got the box in yesterday.

Ok I went and got them....jeezus..this place is already starting to cost me money...

They had the poster up, but no games. I guess I have an excuse to go to Taco Bell next week, when they get them in.

Thanks for the youtube video, ParrotHead. What's different about the evolved version of Centipede though? It looked pretty identical to the classic version.

Finally had them at my local TB - they had a poster up indicating they were the 'toys' in the kids meal. I wanted to buy two sets (2 of each). Guy at the register (same one I dealt with when they did not have them) is like "There are three total". I said "No, there are four games total and I want two sets". He did not get "two sets". Me, "I want two of each game". That finally sunk in. I seem him digging through boxes looking and am thinking the worst - not going to have two of each. Finally, he comes back up and says "Here are two green, two purple, two red and two blue". I guess they color code for people that can't read. ;)

Then he says "You must be a game fanatic". Me, "Well, I like games". Then he says "I am a game fanatic. My mom keeps my paycheck or I would by 5 psp games at one time".

Wow! Takes all types. :)

I just found calling them by color and not game name odd - actually, the whole experience was a bit odd but I have my "two sets".

EDIT: At least there was no real communication barrier - guy spoke English.

Somehow I missed this thread when it was started, but I saw these tonight and bought all 4 for $0.96 each. The manager said they would be available for about another week. Here are some close-up pics for anyone thinking about getting them. I probably won't open them, and just stick them in a frame for the wall in the gameroom. They apparently work for either PC or Mac...

I also bought 2 sets a few weeks ago. Very awkward experience also. They treated me like I was a crazy person the whole time but I got what i wanted!! I think the main thing was that they looked like they had never dealt with anyone just wanting to buy the "toys" before.

Haha, I had to order them by color too, because the workers were too stupified.

All 4 look great. One of the guys from work told me about them (I had no idea) so as soon as I got back from Utah I went to the local Bell and got Super Breakout. At the time I had not read this about getting all 4 so I shall return there soon, as in tomorrow. Its funny how some places have no clue, my gf in Utah went to get some for me and they said there were not selling them at all....Oh well I wonder how much these will make an impact?

I really liked the new LL too! How cool would it have been to have that audio in the original arcade game?

First you say my games suck, then they're cool? Which is it?

Love how someone can sum up an entire period of my life where I lived a 22 hours a day seven day a week coding schedule for two months straight with "they suck".
