I have always wanted a Terminator 2 shooter since getting into this hobby, and finally picked this one up. It's in great shape but not to my standards ( I'm very Anal ). So here is what I plan on doing:
1. Cut new Lexan CPO
2. Install new Buttons
3. Already fixed marquee light
4. Cap kit
5. Figure out why the guns do not aim ( got a new i/o board on the way )
6. Clean up, sand, spray paint, and gloss sealer on the guns
7. New T-molding
8. Paint all black cabinet portions with fresh paint
9. Replaced all 8 flash bulbs ( never seen them working as a kid, very cool effect)
10. Order New Marquee

Looking good so far. Same here, I played the hell out of this when I was a kid. Im working on one right now. I Havent shared any pics but you definitely started with a better specimen. Im trying to find gun LEDs. I was debating on painting the guns, I think I might now.

I took the guns apart and soaked them overnight in dishwash palmolive and goo gone. Then scrubbed them this morning and it took all the crud off them. I sprayed 3 light coats of valspar(lowes brand) bloss black then 2 coats of valspar gloss sealer.

How is the restore going? Mine is in the cold garage torn apart, just got a new sound board and finally heard the game for the first time. So much cooler!

Just waiting for the new Lexan, marquee & red t-molding to show-up and it goes in the gameroom. The only issue i have is the 2nd gun aims a bit weird. It floats sometimes but other than that works and plays great. I Picked up a fully dedicated T2 jamma harness and a spare i/o board off ebay today as backups in case something breaks. I'll post a few pics after it's all dome.
Chris

Got it all done and in the game room last night. Finally got the curved lexan piece for the control panel & the marquee in yesterday. Plays great looks great, its a big son of a gun.
I didn't take any pics of it on cause the wife was studying in the next room and it's a loud game.

Just making sure you replaced the lamps behind the 1/2 silvered mirror. The "hit" effect is worth it...

EDIT: Never mind... addressed in #9...

:)

I'm doing a T2 restoration as well. Mine was missing this lamp board, I was able to find one on the forums. Do you happen to know where the wires for the lamp board terminate back to?
