I'm planning on buying another pin but i can't make up my mind between T2 or T3.Which one do you think would be better as far as gameplay and more challenging? Thanks,Mike

T2 all the way, but that's just me. Best thing you could do is try to find both and play them.

None around were i live,I have played T2 years ago but never played T3 I have seen videos on youtube of T3 but they were very short. Thanks

T2 a better movie and a better pin all around, its a Williams not a modern stern. They are just built better. It has better game play also.

theres a real nice T2 for sale at Greater America in Kansas City for $1300.00
they rebuild games etc

never played T3
T2 is fun, not sure if i had limited space that id get it

I own a T2 but played a lot more T3 in the arcade.

T2 is a good game, not terribly deep. The music is kind of cheesy and the pin did not incorporate all the elements of the movie due to timing issues. They tend to be missing the hunter killer ship because it was prone to breaking. There is a cool mod for the ship which lights it up and keeps it from breaking easily. There is also the issue of replacing broken play field plastics - some are not easy to find.

It's been a while since I played T3. I thought it was decent but a lot of people didn't like the game a whole lot. Again, it wasn't a terribly deep machine. I'd still guess a T3 pin is going to be more $$$ than the T2. I'd need to play it again, to give a better opinion of it vs. the T2.

I was thinking the same thing Nothing like Williams,No offense to Stern but the feel of gameplay on Williams pins is much greater than Sterns. Thanks

That's a good price for a nice T2,I was looking at Ebay and prices are too high and shipping is a killer close to 400.00 to have it shipped. Thanks

I have seen alot of people saying they did'nt like T3 also and the price on T3 is pretty cheap from what i have seen on Ebay theres a couple of them going for around 2k and they are in great shape.I wish i can find these pins local or anywhere close by but no luck. Thanks

t3 is just a newer t2 with a mechanical backbox not worth the extra dough imho

I have owned both of them. I liked T2 better. The T2 felt like a better built machine. The Stern's have a cheaper feel and the flippers are clunky compared to a Bally/Williams machine. You should be able to find a T2 much cheaper than a T3 since the T2 is older.

T2 is the one i'm going for and i always like Williams games,Thanks for the advice,Mike

I've played both games a fair bit. For me it's T3 hands-down. T2 has the 2 decent ramps, but scoring/strategy/multiball is FAR too dependent on the side gun, which is not a pinball shot at all. You can tell someone is playing T2 because they will lean WAAAAY over the right side of the machine to try to line up the critical gun shots. Lame.

OTOH, T3 has a lot of nice tight ramp shots (I like the metal ramps) and good sequences requiring consecutive shots. It's a more balanced and fun game than T2 imo, and has a good feel.
