I have a T2 that's been blowing the Q52 transistor. The Q52 controls the drop down solenoid for the T2 target. I've replaced both the solenoid and the transistor. The game plays fine for a day or so then blows out the transistor again. Any ideas? Thanks!

Just for what its worth, change out the predriver to q52. I always have a habbit of changing both the predriver and driver as a pair.

No,it's a transistor again(like tripod:)) that is connected with the Q52.Just trace Q52 to the first elemnt that is connected, this is the predrive transistor.

i think the reason this is reccomended is because then the drive transistor goes, it can short or damage the predrive transsistor( same thing happens when i fix car amps)

so when you replace the big transistor, it might work, but with the predrive damaged it will cause the drive transistor to run hot and fail quickly..

we still dont know WHY any of these components failed

the hope is by replacing the transistor and the predriver transistor, you will have replaced the component that failed in the first place

while you are in there replacing both tranistors, test the resistors too and see if they are within specification (within 10%)
i think they are at least R88 and R89 and R87 and R86. without looking at the schematic i cant be sure if those are right or even if thats all of them

something failed in that circuit and it would be nice to know what it was EXACTLY. maybe it was the Q52 or hopefully one of the resistors come up shorted or out of spec

here is a resistor reader that might help you identify the value of a resistor you want to test

i would replace Q52 again as it might have been damaged
