I have two cabinets that just have t-molding above and/or below the marquee instead of metal brackets. To my eyes, it seems like the t-molding is too small. The t-molding around the rest of the cabinet seems fine in terms of size, it's just the marquee area where it seems too small, like maybe it was a recent restoration and they put the wrong size on for that section? What do you think? Does it look right to you? Also I haven't bought t-molding before - can I get it in the exact size I measure, or are they all set sizes and I should just go to the next size up?

It is what it is. Standard 3/4 t-molding, where as Sega's wood was a little thicker than 3/4" in some cases (have come across this same issue myself).

Could also have been exacerbated by moisture. Try pounding the t-molding flatter :)

99 times/100 when you see that, the particle board has actually swollen through the years, due to either getting damp or high humidity - the cabinet material was probably originally very close to 3/4" thick, with the t-molding looking right.. T-molding.com actually does sell 13/16" wide t-molding, and yeah, you could paint that black to mask it some.

Let me check when I get home. I have a Pengo cabinet with a 1943 marquee in it. I dont remember seeing t-molding around the marquee. Im sure it was a bracket. ill check though.
