So I destroyed a new cab today. Well didnt destroy it but messed up the routing for my T Molding in the worst possible spot. My opening is way too big (wide) and the molding wont stay in by itself. In the past Ive tried different things to fill the gap with. Basically grabbing any thing I had around the shop and had bad results in the long run. Any ideas?

In the past Ive tried different wood glues, super glue, hot glue. I guess in my mind I was thinking if it was a think enough glue the the would have to hold. Would rather ask and go with something that has a proven track record. Im sure this topic has been cover before so my apologizes for spamming the topic.

Try epoxy (the two part stuff) let it set and you should be able to re-route it with an 1/16" bit

Yeah I was thinking about doing that. I already painted the cab and assembled most of the parts so I was really trying to avoid that sort of situation. But re routing would most likely have the best results...

You can also use glue and sawdust mixed up like a paste. Pack it in the groove, push in t molding, tape over with blue tape to secure and allow to dry. Of course you have to have some sawdust on hand...

That's a great idea. Sort of like breaking off toothpicks/matchsticks in an over sized hole to give a screw more holding power.

I tried that Beats the Nails stuff once and had some issues. I can find plenty of things the hold it in place but the molding isnt flush with the wood. It will pop up just a slight bit. You can see little spaces if you are looking at the machine from the side. Cabinet is identical to a Pac Man cab and the wide spots are on the bend near the CP. Worst spot possible. Im going to tackle it today. Going to try some bondo. Ill post the results! lol

Normally I wouldnt be so anal about it but its a brand new cabinet for a customer so any little flaw sticks out like a sore thumb.

How big of a gap are we talking about and how long is the cut? How about hot glue and silicone glue?

T molding issue

I would consider trying gorilla glue, but you need to let it dry with a vice to hold it in for a day to dry. Do a section at a time.
