I didn't bother measuring, and want to order some today. Can someone help me with length measurements?

I am buying for the following cabinets:

  • 4 Player Konami (Simpsons)
  • Gaplus (same as Galaga cabinet)
  • My Custom Virtual Boy cabinet (I will get the same length as I am for my Gaplus there should be pleanty)

So how much should I need for the Simpsons and Gaplus (I am getting different colors for each). The Simpsons control panel has molding almost all the way around.

If your Simpsons is anything like my NBA JAM TE, it took me 1 1/2 rolls of 20' black. NBA JAM has t-molding around the CP, 4 straight pieces below the CP, and then two longer pieces that run up from the CP over the top and finishes on the back of the cab. The reason I mention it in terms of 20' pieces is because I had 2 20' black rolls I was going to use on my SW...and a lot of people sell them in 20' rolls. So, you should probably be okay with 30', but if you buy it from someone that sells 20' rolls, then I'd get two of them. Don't know if that helps at all.

That helps a lot! Now I just need to figure out what a Midway cabinet needs.

i always read that 20' would do 1 full midway (fighter style) cab.

Do you ever sleep?

Well, if you do the math, you've got a 6' front, 3'top, and 6' back...depending on the cab...but that's 15' right there just on one side. If it just barely goes over the top on the back, you might get away with a little less, but by the time you pay for shipping, do you really want to take that chance? Most sellers send them in 20' rolls anyway, so just get two of them for each cab and be done with it.

ah none of my machines have molding on the back really (atleast not past the access door). I agree 20' would cut it really close, and actually i'm glad this thread was started as now i'm going to lean more towards 25-30' as i just watched a couple vids on different machine restorations. i definitely would have only ordered 20' per game and prolly would have been pissed >.<

Yes in particular Galaga style cabinets only have t-molding on the font and top edge. nothing along the marquee or control panel. and nothing on the back except for a shot bit on the top.

Here are the measurements I got in case anyone else needs them:

I measured my Gaplus and Galaxian and they are both 8 feet per side, so 16 feet per cabinet.

The Simpsons cabinet came to 22 ⅓ feet and my HS-5 Dynamo is 26 feet.

I also measured my MK1 cab and my Spiderman cab.

Spiderman: 33 +/- Feet
MK1: 23 +/- Feet

These measurements have a few inches extra figured into them.

for those of you who just want to do a MK control panel it's at least 7 feet. spider-man is about 11 feet. (these measurements include the control panel mounting box).
