So about a month ago, I ordered some 3/4" textured T-molding for my GORF. While I was at it, I thought I better get some for my upcoming TRON project at the same time. They had a special on the 25' poker table roles, so I bought 2 rolls for a total of 50 feet. Now when I went to install it, I noticed I still had 10 feet of 3/4 textured from my last order, back in the Spring. Obviously, before opening the new stuff, I used up the old stuff. Everything looked perfect after install. Then I went to install the new stuff, and thought that I had bent the spine over, because it was sticking out about 1/16-3/32" past the edge. I kept screwing with it, but it still stuck out. Now with a GORF machine, the t-molding edge of the upper plywood cabinet butts right up against the side of the lower laminate edge. Because of this, you can have no overhang on the inside either, as there is physically no room for it to go. Of course, I noticed that I couldn't get the inside edge pushed all the way in for some reason. Stood back, and sadly noticed that the whole outside edge was sticking out and causing a shadow. Pulled it out, held it up to the other side and noticed it was 1/8" wider than the other side molding. WTF? I thought. Asked around, everyone I asked said I must have 7/8" molding. Problem is, T-molding.com doesn't carry a 7/8" textured molding on their site.
Fast forward to yesterday, I decided to shoot them an email letting them know of the issue. Same day, I get a response, an apology and an offer to send out a whole new batch of 3/4" textured. He says they used to carry 7/8" Textured, but they discontinued it and he thought that their stock of it had all been used up. His theory is there was a partial roll still left in the warehouse, and when they started cutting orders for 3/4 rolls, someone just started cutting them off of the forgotten 7/8 roll, thinking it was 3/4". In any case, I just got my UPS tracking number from them today for the new stuff. I offered to send the old stuff back but haven't heard from from him one way or the other on that aspect. Just wanted to tell you my story about a company that you have dealt with, or will deal with at some point if you remain in this hobby for any length of time.
