Does anyone have a system 80B MPU board and a Sound driver Board they are willing to sell me I am desperate need of them....Someone must have one from a parted machine,,,A used one with no acid damage would be perfect..please call 972-757-9941

Well the old MPU had acid damage...and would not boot, also the sound board 2 eproms got really hot meaning they are bad...so I am in need of a 80b MPU and a sound driver board for Spring Break..
Thanks,

try what i told you for the mpu!!! it might save you from buying a board, or at least let you know if its repairable, as for the sound card ask someone to burn you the eproms/sound chips and replace them, that may also be because it isnt booting

ok, take vinegar put in a large enough to dip the corroded area into let it soak for an hr or so, take an old toothbrush to the area , then rinse that area very well with WATER then DRY COMPLETELY, then re-insert it and it should give you more than your getting now if it doesnt boot entirely......do it now!!!!!.....j/k but i know how your feeling

I don't have a lot of time to read this forum any more so we need all the help from you guys we can get.

if the battery corrosion isnt too bad, you might be able to fix it. but if the battery corrosion has traveled quite a bit and has entered/exited chips and generally looks extensive, you might need a new CPU or it might still be fixable depending on your skill level.

if the corrosion isnt too bad and hasnt contaminated too many components, then neutralizing the corrosion would be one of the first steps.

can you post a nice closeup of the corroded area ?
