I have two Atari System 2 cabs. Neither has seen any water damage, but each one of them has a sagging back door. It's kind of annoying, since it makes completely closing the back door pretty much impossible. I'm assuming that the hinges have been slightly over the years from the weight.

Has anyone done this repair? I think I may just replace the hinges with a heavy duty set from the hardware store.

The Paperboy I am restoring did the same thing. My hinges actually look perfectly aligned but the carriage bolts were a bit loose which was causing the door to sag. I was going to play around with the hinges I have to see if they will still work for me otherwise I'm sure it will take a bit of work to find something with the bolt patterns aligned the same. But I guess I could also just bondo over the old bolt holes and drill new holes... just don't really want to have to do that.

My Paperboy is the same way... but I can get it to close if I lift straight up underneath the hinge. I never really looked at it though, so I'm not sure if it's sliding on the hinge, the bolts are loose and the entire hinge is sliding, or something else.

Thanks for the responses guys. I will take a look at my hinges and see what the deal is. In the past I have been able to close the door by lifting up on it, which makes me think I may have some loose bolts as well. I think I may lay the game on its side and fiddle around with tightening the bolts. Hopefully it will be an easy fix..
