Got bored tonight, decided to pull apart my Swords of Fury and do a good cleaning. You can see how dirty it is, especially under the apron. I am not going to pull off the mini playfield or main ramp, but I've pulled most of the rest of the plastics/posts and am going to clean the hell out of it. Here's some pics just after I pulled most of it apart....the cleaning will be done tomorrow night probably. Wish me luck!! This game isn't anywhere near collector quality but I have gotten everything to work properly, installed new displays, and it plays great!

Here's a flickr set I made:

Keep dreamin, way to much work, doing my Fishtales was more then enough for me. Fishtales isn't actually that hard to shop, SOF mini playfield and the main ramp are a real bitch so I'm not pulling them totally apart. I bought this bendy rod thing that you use for cleaning guns, you can attach cleaning swabs to the end of it and get at hard to reach places. So I'm just going to use that to clean under the mini playfield and a couple other nasty spots.

I'll have SOF nice and clean for you now though, so when your ready for that trade we talked about let me know ==grin==

You'll have to come over and do my Fish Tales next.

Any videos of your new line-up tom? I see you have different ones now. I like watching your videos. Hey just finished my custom MAME cab, they go good with pin machines

I haven't taken a video of my Swords of Fury or Fishtales yet. Not sure I'll do one of Fishtales because youtube has a bunch already, I may do one of SOF once I get it cleaned up a bit. I also bought a set of sweet tower speakers for my mame cab, so it pumps some sweet tunes into the mini arcade now :)

Got it back together, all waxed and cleaned and pretty. (Approx 7 hours total strip down/clean and put back together)

Fixed a few things while I had it apart as well. I replaced the kickback plunger (tip was worn out), so now the kickback hammers the ball like it should. Was having an issue with the flasher under the miniplayfield, the bulb was blowing instantly, dug through the manual and it's supposed to be a 1251 (28v) NOT an 89 (12v) so that was an easy fix. Thought I might have had a resistor problem, guess the former owner never clued in either. Also fixed some flaky standup switches, cleaned all star posts and plastics, and rebulbed and rerubbered everything in the game.

Will post a couple pics tonight if I remember, this has been the farthest I've torn down a game so far, was ALOT of work, but worth it.

Can someone help me find the part number for the upper diverter coil
stop for my Swords of Fury. It's for the diverter that diverts the
ball over to the mini playfield. Doesn't seem to be in the manual,
mine is totally worn out causing the diverter to open to far. Thanks!!
The coil is a ae-26-1200.

Just sold mine. Boy did I do a number on it too. Replaced ALL colored inserts, hand touched up every tiny booger and envirotexed the playfield.Sure came out great but I really wasn't inpressed to much by the game play. A guy opening up a new pinball hall in Los Angeles bought it for a good price.

It is a very easy game for sure, easy to lock the balls, easy to get it up to the mini playfield over and over and over, fairly easy to "wrap" the score to 9,999,999. I still like it though. I love the music and it has a unique layout. I love how the drop targets progressively take longer to reset. It's not the greatest game I've ever owned or played, but it's something different, and I still enjoy it. They can't all be 10's :) I had an Addam's Family for a couple years and I could even find faults with it, as well as other DMD titles I've sold. They all get stale afterwhile really...when it gets old, I'll trade it or sell it for something fresh and new.
