Some of the cabinets I have/had are made with particle board and have swollen edges due to moisture and age. It's easy to notice that the wood sticks out past the T-molding because it swelled. Is there a proper way to combat this when restoring? When I repaired my orange Nintendo cab (DK Jr. with particle board), which by the way had swelled like nothing else, I basically poured wood glue diluted with some water down the swollen edges then clamped them down so they would be squished back down to their original size. It did work out okay but I was just wondering if there was a better way to do this. Would this method also work for plywood cabinets that have had some splitting/layer separation?
