Swapping NBA Jam into either Wrestlefest or Sunset Riders cabinet

I see the pinout for NBA Jam doesn't use the -5V that is required for Wrestlefest and Sunset Riders. Is it possible to just swap an NBA Jam PCB into either a Wrestlefest or Sunset Riders cab, or does some re-wiring need to be done? Thanks.

Applying -5v to the -5v input of a JAMMA board that doesn't require it shouldn't cause any harm. Your board swap should be plug and play, other than maybe needing to tweak the monitor sync/color/brightness. Only problem may be connecting player 3 and 4 controls, the games probably use different kick harnesses.

Is there an easy way to wire up the P3 and P4 controls for easy switching between the different configurations? Is it possible to do something like a pigtail from the controls into 2 different connectors that could be changed fairly quickly when swapping between a game like Sunset riders and NBA Jam (which use different P3 and P4 harnesses)?

Not really. You could wire both kickharnesses up to a molex connector, I guess. Like, have the NBA Jam kick harness and the Wrestlefest kick harness both terminate in a molex male plug, and have the wires that go to the control panel have a matching female molex plug.

Honestly, I think you'll find you don't want to swap the games around all that often, and hooking up the controls will only take 5 minutes when you DO want to switch.
