I am not technical in regards to working on cabinets (basically a parts swapper!!)

But I have a Joust monitor in a JAMMA cab that has seen better days.

I also have a very good looking Sanyo EZ20 I had as a backup to my donkey kong.

I sold the donkey and was wondering how difficult it would but to swap out the old Wells Gardner with my Sanyo?

I've never hacked a harness and don't know where to start with getting power to the Sanyo as it has a plug and the Wells has power hard wired.

Any advice is appreciated!!

Thanks

Tim

Sanyo is 100V isolated

you will need a 100v transformer to power the sanyo, a new power connector, and new video input connector

Under your circumstances I would sell or trade your sanyo for another Wells and save yourself a ton of headache converting everything especially since the sanyo is worth slightly more then most Wells.

Sanyo is king but hard to use outside of a nintendo arcade you'd be better off this way.

to bad your not local to me.

i could do it for you.

it is not terribly hard, but if you don't have the tools and parts needed i would not do it.

Joust would look SMOKING!! good on a Sanyo.

Buffett, I'm curious is it absolutely necessary to get a different transformer with a 100v output or is there a safe way to step down the voltage coming from a typical arcade transformer. I ask because I've seen you mention multiple times that 20ez is your monitor of choice for your games.

get a dedicated step down transformer.

i use old Nintendo transformers in my games.

you can get away with modding a transformer but it introduces additional fail parts.

if you use a dedicated wound transformer there is nothing else that can break and smoke the monitor.

Wells Gardener K4900s (came in Joust) are also WONDERFUL monitors, my personal favorite of all time. OP is your tube burnt in? Otherwise anything else can be fixed, pretty easily.
