Found the following PCB in a box of parts. It's labeled as Suzo Rotterdam with part numbers: 22-3300 and 480159. I'm assuming a joystick base, but my search and Google skills must be bad today since I'm not finding a match.

Thanks for any assistance.

Ooh, here's a fun one.

Looks like a joystick PCB from some kind of inductive or Hall-effect-type stick. (From the coils on the board). I'm not aware of any that Suzo/STC made though.

You win the obscure part of the day award for sure, though. That's a curious one. Definitely not anything common.

Dammit. You didn't let me post, "andrewb to respond in 3...2...1..."

They did... Inductive, not hall effect.
I've got 2 of them under the seat in my van... (Or at least that's where I think I threw them 10 years ago).

And I *knew* you were going to show up and say that, lol. Always keeping me on my toes.

(I knew there are no H/E sensors there, was just speaking sloppily.)

Yeh, the coils give it away.
Everyone always thinks Hall Effect.
And forget about the Inductive sticks.

I'd ask for a pic of your van, but might regret that later. LOL

Yeah, I think I've got a set of those in my shed as well. I was planning to use them in my MAME machine 10 or so years ago... then never made a MAME machine. :p

I liked that they had no click, and could adjust the sensitivity so they'd run as a 4 or 8 way stick.

Thanks for the great thoughts (and fun banter), everyone.

As I don't have any of the rest of the joystick, is this something worth keeping, tossing, or can anyone use it?

It was found in a box I picked-up from an Operator warehouse that contained Amplifone deflection (x3) and HV (x3) PCBs, so I was hopeful it was a little, hidden gem. :)

If I've learned anything in this hobby, it's never throw anything out.

Three sets of Amp boards, with HV? That's a lucky score.
Good point, Andy.

Yes, I was quite excited when I found the Amplifone parts. Sadly, there are at least four sets of serial numbers on them, so at least four Star Wars or Major Havoks are no more. :( All three of the HVs still have their reds.

I'd test all 3 reds before replacing them. You might get lucky and have one of the good ones.

If you need any help with any of them, let me know anytime.

Thanks, Andy. That's a great idea.

As for the inductive joystick PCB, if someone wants it, then PM me.

Guess what I ran across on ebay tonight...

(Pics archived below, for reference.)

Scott, maybe edit the thread tile to include 'Suzo inductive', and maybe the part number, for the sake of future searchers.

Great catch, Andy. Thanks for posting the auction pictures, as I have never seen one of those joysticks.

BTW, I did update the thread title.

Were there any games that came with these joysticks from the factory or were they only aftermarket?
