Anybody have enough knowledge to where if I pay for shipping and your service you could figure out what is going on with my filter board and/or joystick?

I am trying to be tech savvy with this stuff, but I do not want to break this. I now have 2 Surf Planet PCBs from 2 different people and both of them do the same thing, so I am 99% confident that is not the issue (the controls think I am always going to the right even when the joystick is not plugged in).

This is telling me that it is either the filter board, or the joystick since there is no way that 2 pcbs from 2 separate sources who both say that the pcbs work just fine would have the same exact issue.

I am more than willing to front the cash to mail out the joystick and filter board and pay for you doing it if you have the time.

I can also try to fix this myself as well if anybody knows enough about this cab to give me some pointers on what I should be looking at. I am more than willing to try and learn if need be

You can adjust the center position by turning the pot through the slot just above where your jamma harness connects. that should fix it. If not, just change out the 5k pot on the stick.

The thing is that I thought that was the issue, but it is happening on 2 separate pcbs whether the joystick is plugged in or not. What are the chances of 2 pcbs (where both people I got them from said they were working perfect) have the same exact issue? I am sure it is possible, but it sounds like this would have to be with the filter board or joystick.

The thing that throws me off is that this happens even when the joystick is not plugged in

must be the pot on the stick then, check your connections on the pot, and replace if needed. my board turns right with no control input

Oh, if that is the case, that might sound like the answer then. I was thinking the filter board, but if your board does the same thing as mine with no input, then I will need to look at the joystick.

I am horrible with pots and stuff, so I guess I will need to be careful since I will be honest, I do not really know what I am doing, but more than willing to learn.

EDIT: how technical is it to get a new pot? I have never done it before and do not want to break anything.

Also, on your joystick, from the top going down, what are the colors for it?
I just want to ensure that those are on there correctly since my joystick the person said that they had to resolder those wires on there and it could be possible they did the wires in the wrong order.

EDIT 2: I thought of something as well, could something from main main harness possibly be interfering with the joystick signal somehow? I found the manual online, and it looks like the main Surf Planet Jamma Harness is pretty bare. I still have my player 1 and 2 connected to the jamma harness. Do you think that unplugging all player 1 and 2 controls outside of the start button might clear this up, or would it still be something with the joystick itself?

Would you be cool if I sent you a few PM's for tips and stuff?

I am not asking you to hold my hand to get it working, but a few tips never hurt

Ok, thanks. i do not want to keep bumping this when it is just me and you talking.
