Superstars, worth the price?

I click on it and get a $50 monitor. O_O

i just picked up a dedicated for $100...$300 is a bit steep for a conversion, and it's not super desirable because everyone wants the sequel, Wrestlefest

Ah yeah that's what I was thinking of, Wrestlefest! Yeah I wouldn't drop $300 on it then. xD

Awesome deal there. I'd love a dedicated Superstars. I used to play the shit out of that game with my Pops at the local Safeway in Gilroy when I was a kid.

Is it just me or was Superstars overall a better game? I found Wrestlefest to be a lot slower, clunkier and confusing than Superstars. The characters in Wrestlefest were HUGE in comparison, which was pretty cool, but it just wasn't as appealing of a game to me.

Not dedicated, but not a bad conversion either...and I've seen a ton of Superstars conversions (ops seemed to really like this kit).

Superstars and Wrestlefest compliment each other (being in the same series and all). I've heard preferences for both games. I haven't gotten my Superstars/Wrestlefest cabinet together, so it's been a while since I've played and compared the gameplay details of both.

Superstars is definitely not an "investment friendly" game. You purchase it because you enjoy the game, not so much to resell later. 1-300 for a dedicated seems to be the norm and it seems you'll be hard pressed to get that back. I've got more than 300 in mine and it's just a pile of NOS parts sitting next to a stripped dedicated cab. Some games seem to be like that.

Want to scan the cpo? :D

Sounds like a pass then. If it was dedicated, I might have been more enclined to purchase it but seeing it's a conversion, not so much. I can always play Superstars on my MAME to kill the urge when needed.

Thanks guys.

I never thought about it, but I do have a NOS CPO. I could scan it and clean it up. I *believe* the dedicated CPO has some additional art on it (button labels) that the kit doesn't. I could add that art to it as well if someone can take a picture of their dedicated.

I just have to figure out scanning it on a small scanner. :p
