Superauctions in MN on Aug 21?

what did the KI and War Gods go for?

I had a friend who stayed who I will ask about this, but if anyone knows, please chime in. War Gods was dedicated, but dead. I looked inside and it was complete, but everything was disconnected. It had the wrong broken joysticks as well.

Here's some prices I can recall off the top of my head, and a few from notes...

Spiderman (working) : $175
X-Men 4p (working) : $225
Mortal Kombat (no life signs) : $125
Killer Instinct (graphical issues) : $175
Wargods (no life signs) : $100
Space Firebird Cocktail (basket case) : $25 (I bid @ 35 a split second later but they called me late, fuckers)
X-Men VS Street Fighter, Dynamo cutcorner (no life signs) : $87.50
Centipede Cabaret (bad burn but working) : $375
Donkey Kong JR Cocktail (working) : $125
Donkey Kong Cocktail (white screen) : $137.50
Popeye Cocktail (bad wave) : $225 (I think)
Ms Pacman Cocktails (many, most not working) : $250-325
VS Duck Hunt (working) : $175 (or was it $225?)
Ms Pacman/Galaga Reunion Cabaret (minty) : $700
Space Invaders Cabaret (working) $275
BurgerTime (power cord locked in the back door) : $150

As for pins, they were half buybacks and the only legitimate buy I can recall was a collector couple who picked up Bad Cats for $675.

Megatouch's of varying age, all working went for $50-200 (one oldie missing it's changer went for $35 I think). There were 2 working Megatouch uprights, I know one sold for $50. And the fancy-schmancy new silver units went for $700 (wall-mount) and $1100 (with base). A couple of coinop pool tables went for $200/ea. The many jukes and few cranes I completely ignored, so I got nothing for ya.

All above prices are BEFORE the 15% Buyers Premium and sales tax.

Most of the action was on the cabarets and cocktails, guess everyone is out of space :p Plus it didn't help any that most of the uprights were non-functional to begin with, and they didn't get power to the ones that did work until bidding time. The entire row in Les Manley's 2nd set of pics, first pic DSCI0140, went completely unbid on excepting the broken Asteroids, that went for $75 or $125. They were all dead, so figures.

It was quite the carnival, headed up by the scheister SA carny crew, but all in all, some good machines and a few deals here and there.

This was posted to the rec.games.pinball newsgroup:

"... and the other day I noticed
something odd in my very small town. A couple of huge trucks loading
up the pins and vids I've been trying to get my hands on for years in
a crappy old warehouse right in the center of our little southern
wisconsin village! Guess where they are headed? Yep... today's MN
auction on the SuperAuction trucks. I had been trying to buy for years
from this vendor, and it sounds like the son is getting into the
business and wants to move all the old junk dad was holding back.

They literally have HUNDREDS of early 80's pins and vids that have
been sitting for 25 years. The were loading up 8 Ball Deluxe, Harlems,
Evel K (must have 6 of these in there)... tons of backglasses and
playfields. On the down side, this warehouse is a rain leaky, nasty
mold, no heat, no air, broken window, environmental disaster. Games
completely covered in bird s**t (bring your hand sanitizer folks).

Much more of this stash will be headed to the next SuperAuction in
West Allis in Sept. This place literally has Pac Mans, Asteroids,
Space Invaders, Galagas, and all the other classic vids lined up row
after row. Not to mention about a half dozen Bobby Orr Power Plays,
Memory Lanes, Phoenix, Contact, Hulk and Spidey Gottliebs, Spirit of
76... They could hold three or four auctions with just this one
vendor, and I've only seen the one warehouse... I was told by the
owner there are others just like this one they are sorting thru. "

Sigh, it hurts a bit to know Bad Cats went so cheap and I wasn't there for it..

Well maybe at the Milwaukee Auction on the 4th..
The Bad Cats wasn't working (lit up was all it was, nothing on the display and no keys)
I considered gambling but as it climbed over $500 I lost interest.
That Adams Family abortion was a joke - it was obviously a parts donor that wasn't worth anywhere near 4 digits, much less the ~$2700 final bid (before fees)
Loaded working CD Jukes went ~$350 - non-working units in the back room either went unsold or for $25 - many vid units in back went the same way, plenty of 'passed' with no bids. There was a Pac cabaret in back that when coined would reset - don't recall the price. That big blue air hockey unit went for $25.

If space wasn't an issue for me I would have picked up a few more things...

Good To see everyone at the auction Sat. I picked up Four cabs the Viper phase 1 for $25 worked fine once I plugged the harness is. the others not so lucky. The galaxian I got for 125 was one of the cleanest cabs on the inside I've ever seen. I really didn't want to turn this into a 60-1 but the board had a Problem in the chips. The Manual in that thing was never opened and is in mint condition.
Picked up a Head on/invinco for 25 but that cab had seen it's days. It's now parted and burnt into ash.

Kinda kicking myself for not staying till the last row that got passed on but storage restraints kept me from only walking away with 4 cabs. We'll see what October brings. Not much of a fan of the 22% tax and premium fee either at these things. What happened to the 10% plus tax fee for paying in cash.
