Just picked up a beautiful 1994 dedicated Super Street Fighter 2 turbo.. It appears to have a bad Power supply..

Anyone here have one? I have never played this.. Is it alot different that regular Street Fighter?

is it this one?

I always get confused with all the versions. I think I have sf2 turbo championship edition. which is faster and lets you use the boss characters.

looks like your version has super combos. not sure which characters it has, but should be a solid game.

all these newer versions are better than the original because the original is way too slow. they really sped up the action and some let you set the speed too I think. i like the default speed on sf2 turbo championship ed so I never looked to see if it's an option.

my sf2 is easily one of the most played arcade games I have during parties.

In my opinion, it is the absolute BEST rendition of Street Fighter that money can buy. The dedicated has the cpo art in the blue cab. The board alone sells for insane cash, so I'd put a solid price on a SSF2T at around $500-$700 if in real nice shape.

The game was the last released which followed the standard style of the original. After that, the series branched off to the alphas, then sequels, etc. IMO, it never was any better than this one. While all the traditional controls and graphic elements are essentially the same, they were all improved upon. Updated character graphics, four more fighters, and added moves for some characters (which helped even the playing field between some fighters) all made this the best of the best.

are are the differences I remember:

1. adds four new characters to the roster: T-Hawk, Dee Jay, Fei Long and Cammy
2. Adds super moves and the super meter
3. it's faster than the original Super SF2

Super SF2 gave you 4 more charachters and migrated the CPS2 hardware.
Super SF2 Turbo gave you speed and super meters. Other than AE ST was the final version and most collectable. Its subject to suicide so you may want to test the cab w/ another JAMMA PCB.

500-700 wtf? we arent talking about a sweet dedicated KI cab here... we are talkin about a big blue probably with some nos art in it. idk.

You're trying to say a good condition big blue is not worth 5-7? It may not be as rare as KI, but it is a very desirable cab amongst Capcom heads. The ST board alone is worth between 2-300.

...and yeah. On paper ST only added 4 new characters and speed...but it actually added a bunch of new/different move sets for some characters. It's a very different game from regular Super. Just make sure you play it with a human being...the AI is stupid cheater hard.

Super Street Fighter II X is where it's at!

That's exciting that you might have found a US Capcom cab, but personally, I'm happy with a Supergun and solid Japanese style custom sticks.

I would play this in 2P Candy Cab if I could. Like a Sega Astro/Blast City or a Capcom Impress, for instance.

Super SFII Turbo was my first arcade game - I bought an A+B board bundle on ebay back in 2003 for about $125. I later (2004) picked up a World Warrior cabinet to keep it in that has basically become my catch-all JAMMA cab since then.

Great game. My only complaint was that you can't play as the original colors unless you use the cheat or whatever to play as the Super SFII characters. When you do, you basically lose any of the Turbo features such as the super meter.

Sorry, if I play as Ryu, I want the classic red and white!

But still, it's the best version to have, in my opinion. I'd love to have an Anniversary Edition board some day, but I doubt I ever will.

I cant believe how much the prices of SSF2T have shot up. I bought SSF2TX green board for about $80 back in 2000. I since have acquired about 3 SSF2T boards over the years, i dont think i paid more than 50 bucks for any of them, its a lot more common than people give it credit for. Now they're going for like $250?? Good trade fodder I guess, i've started swapping them for other CPS2 titles.

I *finally* bought a near pristine big blue with yet another SSF2T back in Nov 2011 for $350. He was trying to sell it about 5-6 months at that price. I saw it that day and I REALLY wanted it and didnt hesitate to give his asking price. I think it was worth at least $300-350. Its gotta be one of my favorite cabs now. Nothing beats the old big blue! Ill never forget playing SF2CE when it was launched on that cab.

I hear you. A year or so ago I couldn't believe ST breaking 150, but I think a couple of things happened. For one, the competitive scene for ST thought HDR on XBLA/PSN was going to be the tournament standard. When that didn't pan out, the community decided to go back to CPS2 ST.

Since HDR brought in a lot of new blood (on top of IV making Street Fighter popular in general), with the movement to the CPS2 version, there became more demand for the board.

Also just general hype amongst the competitive scene and the arcade collecting scene wound up helping push it to 200+. It's all theory though, based off what I see from my perspective. What I am sure of is, NOW, I really wish I never lost my green ST board BITD, but it is what it is. :p

Crappy cell phone pic, but it should help. The one in the middle is the style of big blue people are talking about. Flat panel, Q-sound stereo.

I love my Super Turbo big blue, she will be the very last cab I give up...

That's a basic 25" Dynamo cabinet. You got yo'self a conversion cabinet. Not worth the 500-700 I quoted earlier, but still a sought-after game.

Ok so it must be a factory conversion cab?? It does not look like it has been converted?? I dont know alot about these machines.. Most of my machines are early 80's.. I think this one is 1994..
