We have a Super Sprint game whose power supply went out about six months ago. When we hooked up a standard power supply the game played fine for a few minutes before one of the caps inside the power supply exploded. Since we had a second Super Sprint power supply with the sense inputs on it, we installed that and all was fine until last week when it went out on us. We tried hooking up a new switching power supply that doesn't include a place for the sense. Instead of hooking it up where you normally would, we put the Sense + line on 5V and the Sense - line on the ground screws. When we power it up, the game plays fine for a few minutes before the cap in the power supply explodes. I was hoping that someone could confirm that we are installing the new switching power supply properly (that the sense + goes to 5v and the Sense - goes to ground?) and was also wondering if anyone has had similar issues with their Super Sprint? Do you think that this could be related to the PCB or do we need to track down a switching power supply with the sense inputs to get it to work?
