Super secret Make Trax finished! pic heavy

I love the game, and I think it is one of the best looking, color combinations, etc from the williams lineup, and your resto is truly awesome. Great gift idea too, well deserved. I have been thinking of getting a cheap hvlp gun from harbor freight and playing with it, after this I may just do that, great work!!

B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L JOB!!!!

That looks really great, excellent job! I always have to ask, what brand paint did you use? Especially interested in what type of semi-gloss clear you used.

ZEN : Harbor Freight has an HVLP turbine available. I purchased a turbine sprayer that they immediately discontinued. It was alright, but they don't offer their turbine sprayers in gravity feed. The other problem i had with them, was the intake hose didn't go down to the bottom of the cup. I just added a little piece of rubber tube to fix that. It wasn't a bad sprayer, but i sure like my Fuji gravity feed a lot better.

metahugh: I used two different types of paint. The red was a "direct to metal" oil based paint. I think it was Benjamin Moore. The rest (including the clear) was all Gemini brand pre-catalyzed lacquer. I'm only using lacquer from now on out. No more rustoleum semi gloss for me.

Zen: Forgot to mention in the last post, yeah, the color combinations for Make Trax are great! That red they used pops sooo much! I think i got my green just a hair darker, but the red and the yellow were perfect.

I also should add that Steve Sanders was a big help to me on this project. I kept in contact with him from start to finish. He provided me with insights about Walter and kept me going on the project, even when things seemed overwhelming. As i was finishing Make Trax, Steve commented that he liked the attention to detail that i put into the game, and that he would like to commission me to build a game for him. So that is one of my next projects. I'm grateful to have both Walter and Steve as a friend.

I just picked up an original Make Trax, but it looks different than yours. The bezel is more vertical and it has two back doors, similar to a Robotron. I've seen pictures of both versions online.

How many different upright (not cabaret) cabinet styles did they use?

looks amazing. bet he really enjoyed it. great guy for sure.

looking for a Make Trax mini/cabaret myself :)
