"Super Score Monthly High" placard origin and recollections...

Anyone else remember these? I remember seeing them at Tilt Arcade in Madison WI BITD ~'82-'84. That was my most vivid recollection... What was the origin of these? Were they just at nationally franchised arcades? Who made them? Anyone get their name and score on one? Any recollections/input appreciated. Thanks:)

I remember a few scores and names were posted on them with the old Dymo label makers:cool: I used to love these things... I don't know why:p

Unreal. I just told someone yesterday I needed to start a thread to get to the bottom of where these originated -- I was hoping they could be linked to one arcade. Mine is on a Star Wars in San Francisco. Sounds like they were more widespread, though.

Nickels & Dimes (Tilt & Gold Mine) made them for their own machines.

ND machines should also have a small white property tag number with a brown "ND" logo somewhere on them, usually on the inside of the coin door.

I have one exactly like that... It came on my Galaxian marquee. Nearly threw it out but kept it anyways and added new adhesive.

Cool, thanks. Yeah, I always wondered if they were exclusive to Tilt... Good stuff!

You got a little piece of Golden Age arcade history, J-Pac... now ya' know a little more about it...;) Thanks for tuning in to the grumpy old guy's thread:)

Well done, junior. I'm damn proud of ya'! I always plan to chisel the one off of the varkon at CAX, but there is always someone playing the over-rated pile of crap.

That didn't take long. Right on cue... I even hate vark so much, I broke one of the bumpers off this past CAX. ahahaha!

You do not hate Varkon and you know it!! Every time I look for you at CAX you are hovering around it... ;)

I like getting my balls in the chute...

old thread alert

I bought a Super Pac-Man with one of these placard things on it. Sure enough there's an ND property sticker thing inside the coin door area as well. I removed it from the marquee and was thisclose to leaving it in the bin. A few folks observed it was probably historical so it's now restored, too. Fun.
