Super Punch Out

Nice job. That's my vector file on the sides of your machine BTW; and on your control panel. It is nice to see how those two files have helped make it possible for so many people to complete SPO machines now.

That's interesting about the white buttons with the orange base. I wonder if that was original for all Punch-Out machines, or just some. The flyer pictures seem to just show just orange, and the parts list in the manual specifies them as orange too.

How difficult was it to find an SPO boardset? Those are like hen's teeth.

How far can you get in the game?

I wonder how many people here have an SPO now. When I first started coming to this forum, and BYOAC, no one that I knew of had one. Now it seems like there are at least a couple dozen people with one.

The SPO boardset came up on ebay... first one I saw in about 6 months of looking. I won it.

The CPO and side art (other than super) came from Anthony at QA... the Super art came from Rich... same with the DUCK/PULL.

Yeah, I vectorized both the Super art (from a 600 DPI scan of my NOS decal, which seems to be the only one left in existence) and the Ducking Pull sticker (from a 600 DPI scan of bzeidler's NOS decal, which also seems to be the only one left in existence).

The first run of the Super decals was screenprinted in Bangor, Maine. Rich did the second run, and also the only run of the Ducking Pull decals. They both did a great job.

BTW, how does the "pull up to duck" function work on your Mike's Arcade joystick? I got one of the early complete ones from Mike in a trade, and it was really nice, except it pulled up too high when you pulled up to duck, in comparison with the original. It was something that could be fixed with a minor part modification; I don't know if he ever did though (I also don't know if it was something that would affect the upgrade kit like you got).
My high score is around 106K. I've gotten to Super Macho Man a few time but he kicks my ass.
Not bad. That's farther than most people got before giving up on the game. When I used to play as a kid at the local general store, most people gave up on Vodka Drunkenski.
