Since it was getting lost in my other thread, I figured I'd make it's own thread...

I need someone with a Super Punch Out to PLEASE evaluate the colors in this artwork and let me know how "close" I am... Yes...I know the Nintendo Logo is wrong... but how about the blue and green? The "silver"... the "white"... the "red"... etc.

Also, since I'll be doing this custom, I may go with the motif of the side "super" and stick the white inside of the SUPER lined with silver... I also sort of like the color Nintendo...

Opinions?

The 2nd example has a red SUPER with gray "splat"... I sort of like that too... I took that off the flyer... opinions?

Damn guys...I surely do appreciate all the input [/sarcasm]

Anyway... I finished cleaning up the marquee and have decided "it's done" and will be shooting it over to MAMEMARQUEES shortly. The only thing I have left to decide on is if I should yank the "TM" and copyright...

It cleaned up pretty decently considering I started with this:

Nice job Frizz. I say leave the TM stuff. It's about preservation right? Also I'd be telling Mamemarquees that you don't want this whored out or possibly make a deal that you get yours free for your time and effort.

So what's their policy on this? If you send them a file to get a repro done, do they just add it to their site?

From their "legal page":

You agree to hold us harmless and defend us and indemnify us from any civil actions filed or threatened to be filed by any third party or entity who determines that your submissions supports a legal cause of action

The way I read it is this: If you create a custom marquee with your name and a photo of your kid and all art on it is created by you, then they will not sell it. if you copy or recreate something that was/is copyrighted or owned by a previous manufacturer, then they will print it for you, but will sell it to others also unless you can present a document showing you own the copyright on it...

That is exactly what Scott offered actually...

:)

It will simply be a translite that you would need to put behind plexi, yes? Or have they figured out a way to print or attach to plexi?

Looks good by the way. Nice work.

Yeah...it'll be a translite sandwiched between plexi... but that's better than nothing.

It looks great Frizz. Top effort.

BTW, the Wii version of Punch Out is also good fun to play.
