I was testing my Super Punch Out and the image on the bottom monitor just rolls. I tried adjusting the vertical hold but that did not help. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Most likely a "MONITOR" issue. Quite possibly a bad "POT" on your monitor. My regular punch out required a pot replacement with a similar issue. What is NICE about Punch-Out machines is they are easy to trouble shoot when trying to figure out if the issue is the monitor itself or if the problem is coming from the PCB. In the back of your machine swap the monitor plug harness so the top of the game would be displayed on the bottom monitor and the bottom of the game would be displayed on the top monitor. If the "ROLL" follows monitors (which I doubt it will) then you KNOW the problem is coming off the board. If the Roll does NOT follow and remains on the bottom then it is your monitor. This trick is handy for trouble shooting bad color proms and chips when in doubt.

Do you have any idea if the monitor has been re-capped? If "NOT" it may be a good idea to do so. Cap kits are available for quite cheap for the Sanyo 20-EZ monitors. If your handy with a soldering iron you can tackle it yourself.

Nice!
That's a great thing when it comes to only a power cord to get it running!!!

With those games , I went to go see them too, I would absolutely suggest a cap kit like the OP stated.

For about 10 bucks in parts, you can get a great picture off those Sanyo's.

FYI- I have never seen a pcb issue that caused the screen to roll. ;)

I did try switching the video cables. And the problem did not move so it is an issue with the monitor. A cap kit is in it's future. Both monitors have some screen burn.

Krajkerjac: I was so excited after I replaced the power cord when it fired up. Did you see qix cocktail? It was interesting, but I currently have two cocktail projects and did not want another one.

You can put your ohm meter on the vert pot and try adjusting it with the monitor off. If the pot is working correctly you should see the pot go from 0ohms up to 50Kohms.
If the pot doesn't dial up and down, replace it. Bob Roberts sells them here.....

I will try that tomorrow. I will order a pot anyway from Bob when I order the cap kits.

Thanks
