So, I installed a Super Pacman High Score Save kit. The game has been acting kinda flakey but reasonably stable, please help me figure out what the problem is...

Here's what's happened... after removing the board to place the kit into it, I turned the game on and the display was upside down. I re-seated the molex connectors, re-powered up the machine and it started fine. After a few minutes of playing, the game reset. I powered it off and on again, and started getting mixed results with rebooting and sporatic right-side up and upside down screen...

Anyone have any thoughts?

Have you tried reseating the replacement roms? I had a similiar issue when I installed the HSSK on my super pac... Reseated the roms and its been a champ ever since.

Yes, I pulled the RAMs out again and reseated them, making sure all of the legs went into the connector properly.. hmmm

I know, this is a old post. Mine was doing the same. cleaning and reseating made no diff. Reinstalled old roms. Works great, just no more high score save.

Out of curiosity, are you guys running the JROK kit with the replaced ROMs and the Dallas SRAM?

That's the only kit I know of. I need to give it a shot on my Super-Pac... am a bit bummed to hear that you had to back out of your install...

I might get the kit for mine but I have too many boards to get working first.

Im running that kit. I think its the only one out there. total of three chips to replace. It has been working fine for a few years before it started to freak out. I put the kit back into the board today. It worked great, for a few hour. Then it started to act up again. You can download the image for them here

I have no way to burn them. Anyone wanna burn a few?
I might, also, just find a Dallas SRAM and replace that one and see what happens.

Not sure this will work but Riptor would know. Did you try to reset the scores?

Resetting the scores makes no difference. Ill check the voltage as soon as I can. Hopefully tonight, depends on the wife ;) Ill also make sure I have 5 volts at all the roms in question. I have another super pacman board. If I have no luck, ill swap them into the other board and see what happens.

Please let us know what you find out!

You almost always have to bump up the 5v when adding a nvram. Measure at the pcb when setting it. Try it around 5.05 but keep it under 5.1v. You really should not need any more than that.
