So I just got a Super Pacman cocktail today and it has a couple problems I am trying to diagnose.

1. Sometimes when a credit is entered it displays CreditAA (Instead of Credit 1) and you cannot get past it, have to reset the game.

2. When a game ends it will automatically start a new game without any credits being entered or the start button being pressed.

3. The Ghosts stretch/become skinnier when moving vertically.

4. The game will briefly 'pause' or 'freeze.' Best way to describe it is like a hiccup.

All of these problems are intermittent and cannot be replicated on a consistent basis. Any recommendations on what may be wrong or what to check would be much appreciated.

for 1-2, I would say verify that the dip switches are set right. for 3, I think that's normal behavior if you eat the Super pill (the one that makes Pac-Man bigger). for 4, I would say check your voltages. don't ask me how, I don't have access to any games like this, I would say meter at a rom, assuming the U-shaped notch on the rom is facing left, put one probe on the lower-right pin and the other probe on the upper-left pin with the meter set to 20VDC range.

I'm going to guesstimate it has an original power supply that's never been rebuilt before, and the voltages could be a little off, and that could even be causing your other problems.

I agree 3 is normal and this game acts funny when voltage is not correct and its linear power supply is know for giving problems

Thanks for the tips. I would have already followed up on this, but realized my brother-in-law "borrowed" my multimeter. So I have a new one on the way from amazon. Will try to trace the problem when it arrives.
