super pac man? really?

One way to rack up points is to get the super pellet than a regular one, eat the ghosts then quickly get another power pellet and go inside their box to chomp them. If you time it right you can get all the ghosts with all 4 pellets and only one super pellet.
The high score save eprom files are available for free download on the net. I have installed it on a bunch of boards. All you need is to swap a couple eproms then remove a 6116 ram and install an NVram in its place.

I have one, it's okay but I definitely prefer Ms. Pac. I really don't know much about strategy for this game, usually I just eat the super size pellets and try to get through each round as fast as possible without regard to maxiimizing my score. If you are super sized and eat a power pellet, it extends your super size time and in the early rounds it's easy to be super sized for the whole round.

Another thing is the bonus on each level, and trying to time it so that the items match. Never been able to figure out a strategy for that.

The bonus rounds are a nice break even though they pretty lame. Just eat as fast as you can.

I think I managed 70-80k as my best on this game. It seems to be impossibly hard after that.

There is also a high score kit for this game, I see it pop up on Ebay once in a while. Not sure if it's still being produced.

BTW - Did Pac N' Pal ever have a dedicated cab?
So far none have surfaced. There's not a lot of info available about P&P, but most of it points to the game being a kit only Japan release. IIRC a few people claimed to have marquees but there are still no photos online.

Biggest Super Pac fan ever:

I've owned a Super Pac table since the mid-80's. That and Ms Pac are my 2 favorite pac games.

I got a cocktail, my first game I ever got. Originally bought it because I thought I could put a multipac kit in it, and they were a lot cheaper than Ms Pacman. I really didn't like the game and wanted to sell it, but being my first game I kept it and it started to grow on me. Plus I really like the cocktail art.

If you think Super Pac is too easy, set it to TG settings, rank 8 difficulty...it'll no longer be easy :D

I have noticed that when people come over, Super Pac-Man doesn't get played much. People don't really get into it. I think its because it doesn't have the exact same premise as other Pac variants. They are very self explanatory and very easy to play. Super Pac requires more stragey. Its an acquired taste. Not something that everybody can get into. Pretty much about anyone likes the regular Pac games. Seems that true Super Pac fans are a die hard bunch. I know I am.

I love Super Pac-man. Use to play it in Swifton, AR (Small town my dad was born and raised in). I have owned 3 UR's, a cocktail, and bought parts from a Mini someone parted out. I think I still have a working Boardset. One day I am going to buy me another UR.

I bought one that was only for personal use. The thing is mint physically. I need to get some ram for it to be up and running properly. Love the cabinet though.
