I went to pick up a free Ms. Pac today that ended up being a conversion from a Super Pac Man.

The shape of the cab is right and there's even a Super Pac dip switch card still stapled to the inside of the cab, but the original base coat is a baby blue color.

They painted everything black when they converted it and I don't want to strip the paint off right now, but everything I've seen about a Super Pac shows the original colors as mostly black and yellow, no baby blue.

So was there any other games that used this cab or any reason that the base coat is not black?

The base color is a dark blue. It can look black in low light. The cabinet is very similar to Ms. Pac-man but the "bite marks" at Super Pac's mouth on both sides are unique to the cabinet.

More than you'd ever want to know about super pac-man.

A thread where I documented the process of restoring Super Pac-Man artwork without stencils.

Another Flickr photoset where I created my own custom artwork for another (trashed) Super-Pac Man cabinet I had.

BTW OregonPacman is right, the main color is a Navy Blue. There are a total of 4 colors. The Navy Blue, a yellow, a red, and a black.

I can see the navy, but the lighter blue is under it. If it was repainted this way then someone spent a lot of effort on it and sanded it down to the wood first, then sprayed it.

I'll see if I can get some pics tomorrow.

If your cab was painted a light blue, it was probably a repaint. I'm not aware of any factory conversions or any other games that use this cabinet. Maybe the light blue was used as a primer color?
