Super Neo 29 Candy Cab Price Check

I've read people have a hard time with monitors in these machines (getting parts, repairing chassis). I definately don't want to pay to much and end up with a boat anchor.

yeah...I've owned a bunch of different candy cabs over the years, and the neo's never really appealed to me. They have a cheap overly plasticky feel and look to them...which is odd since most candy cabs are plastic, but I don't get the same vibe. For the money, I'd recommend either a sega new astrocity. Great underrated cabs, well designed and constructed and there are tons of parts floating around if you need them. And neo-1 slots work great in them ;)

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to look into them a bit before I make my purchase.I have a chance to pick up 6 machines. I am only looking for 1, but if memory serves me correctly they had 4 neo 29's and 2 astrocity model candy cabs.

I'll have to post some pics once the deal is done.

I actually love these cabs! I have 3 right now, two in the house, and one in the shop needing chassis work. The panels are a bitch to find, so if it has extras, grab them.

Here's the one I customized for my daughter:

(I need to replace the buttons though)

Raven,

Very cool! I have a little one about that age as well and there's no stopping him from climbing....lol

They do have some extra parts, I'll have to see what they are willing to part with. We talked about swapping monitors and control panels already (several had a 1 player cp, and a couple had a 2 player cp's). They were thrown in a box truck so one of the monitors had some potential scratches on it. I asked them to clean the monitor on that particular unit so I could assess it's condition. I will be back there today at lunch to check them out again and pick up a diffent machine I paid for yesterday.

Sectorseven, please clarify. Are you saying because they aren't as easy to fine on the East coast the price should be $100.00 higher? If that's true, I may have to buy them all =)

They're definitely more rare in this area. From the sales I've seen over the last year, expect to pay at least $600 for a Neo or Sega brand cabinet.

At least $100.00. Can be much more. Either way, they don't pop up quite as often.

Because of distribution channels, most of your candies are cheap and easy to find on the west coast. There are a few guys who have them shipped in by the container.

On the east coast (and god forbid inland), they can be much harder to find outside of the big cities. If they do pop up, plan to do some traveling.

Well I got lucky yesterday and ended up picking up every candy cab. the seller had (6 in all). It took me about a week to get the deal done because they were inside the back of a truck without any power available. It was a good day yesterday. Pictures coming in the next day or so.

Alright, I'll be the one to ask........HOW MUCH?

That is a nice haul, I love candy cabs and would jump on getting more. Did they have boards in them? What are your plans for them now? Any spare parts in the deal?

Congrats!!

Thanks Raven, It was a very good deal!

As for price, I'll keep that to myself for the moment. I do plan on selling at least four units. Here's what I remember when loading them. Two units were complete and were linked to two other units without boards. The other 2 units (#5 and #6) may be complete minus the boards. There was also a hard drive and a cd rom drive with 3 or 4 disks?? Forgive my ignorance but I don't know much about these cabs (yet).

I received a phone call yesterday from the seller stating he found another board. He was supposed to have a couple spare control panels, buttons and some other random parts as well.
