Super Missile Attack Schematics? Anyone have?

Can I start getting excited? :D

No not yet! :D Might as well be poppin a squat at this point.

I did get a contact from a VERY generous source who is willing to lend me a GCC SMA to reverse-engineer. :)

BTW still looking for schems on the kit. Although the guy I'm getting the kit from doesn't recall ever seeing or hearing of them ever.

I've got a couple of GCC SMA boards, one of which is different to the other ...

See here:http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=105855&highlight=super+missile

I've got a full set of documentation that shipped with the boards, but this doesn't include a schem. The only diagrams I've got are those which show how to correctly install the board, and how the board should be mounted in the cab. The production value of these documents is poor - maybe 10 sides of typed up sheets of A4, with very basic drawings. Looking at them, it seems unlikely that GCC ever went as far producing a set of schems.

The boards have already been pretty much reverse engineered I think - In addition to the GCC boards I also have unencrypted GCC SMA code installed in a standard set of ROM chips (x6 I think) which plug directly into the Missile Command ROM sockets.

As a side note, when the GCC boards first shipped, they were incompatible with Missile Command ROM set 01 - but a note was included to indicate they were working on a new board that would work with ROM set 01 - this might explain why I have two different versions of the GCC boards.

I revived your old thread. :)

This would be the best way to go! I need to get in contact with TG to find out if they would even entertain the notion of accepting SMA scores on a hack of the 'original' GCC hardware. The original is itself a hack of MC, so logic would suggest they would.

I'm pretty sure that TG have already said that they will accept SMA scores achieved using a standard Missile Command board fitted with SMA ROMs - it's why I went that route rather than going with Braze.

And thanks for digging up my old thread. I've seen many GCC SMA boards over the years, but nothing like the one without any GCC markings on it. Very odd, perhaps a bit rare. I don't really know what I want to do with it yet as I'd like to find out a bit more about it first. Not likely though as no-one can offer an explanation of why it came about. It's not just the chips that are different - the solder side is set out quite differently too.

I sent an email to TG. Hopefully we'll get a repsonse.

tb_lilley have you successfully submitted an SMA score to TG and had them accept it?
