Just got a super hang on today. It has a 1/8th inch thick red horizontal line threw the middle of the monitor. thats it, it shows nothing else but that. . . Cap kit right??? or might it be the giant cap in the bottom of the cab???

Not a cap problem.

Don't be so hasty. Vertical collapse can be caused by bad caps only (seen it many times), although cold solder joints are seen more often, and sometimes bad vertical deflection transistors, and rarely even a bad yoke.

Not saying that's the solution, but any monitor with a problem should have a cap kit done during the repair process if for no other reason than to eliminate it as a potential cause. Besides, if the monitor is having other problems, chances are the caps are old, too.

Do a cap kit, but check the other possible causes while you are....

Yes its playing blind, Its a WG19K7901 monitor. . . looks like transistors have been replaced before. .

Does this have adjustable pots on the board or does it have wires coming out to a ext. adjustment board? If it has wires does it have the pot board or is it missing? Broken pot? Start with that and then measure your verticle wires going to your yoke to see if you get a reading. Then you can look at your chassis.
