hey guys, I have an upright Super Hang On. I would really like to know what the easiest way is to get to the front of the monitor. I thought that the upper just gets split from the front and rear and that it comes apart. I was mistaken. I need to clean the monitor and I may possibly replace the plexiglass cover as well. I searched on here for a .pdf manual but I can not find one. I know this is probably a typical newbie question and I apologize for wasting anyone's time that has the machine or the answer. I would really appreciate some advice, and I would LOVE a link to a manual. I realize a lot of guys make good money selling manuals on here, but I was really hoping to do this tonight or tomorrow. I may get a new piece of plexi cut to replace the factory one, and I will need to have the old one out by Saturday in order to do that.

ok, i found the manual on another site. any tips on getting in there and/or tips on replacing the plexi are still welcome though. thanks guys. sorry again if i wasted anyones time. ps -big ups to "Bungy" who got about a week's worth of work done on my arcade in about 3 hours last night! You're the man! Just looked through the manual and it really does not shed any light on how to get to the front of this monitor. it looks like an enourmaous job. anyone that has messed with this -please help.

I forget how I got the top 'dome' off of mine...Once its off though the flexi is easy to figure out how to get off. I actually left my plexi off. The dome fits snugly right onto the screen (like outrun) so there is really no need for the plexi unless you have a ton of screen burn...

You need to take all the bolts out that you can see on the white plastic shroud. I took one off a while ago and that was the only way to do it. (really sucked)

Did you guys have to take out the serious structural bolts that are down by the handle bars, or does all that stuff sort of stay with the front of the "dome"? between this and the 1983 Vector Mark II I am building tonight, I am ready to bang my head on the wall!

I think some of those bolts on the control panel are "aftermarket". You might have better access if you take off the back door, wouldn't hurt to look to see what you're up against.

BTW all your games except Zaxxon can be set to free play via the DIP switches, just check the manuals for the DIP switch settings.

Sorry if my memory eludes me but can't you take the back part of the plastic off the front by just removing all the screws/bolts that are on the outside of the shell? I though that's what I did to get the monitor chassis out of mine that i had. take all the bolts off the shell and see what you can get to and go from there. ( I understand they suck to work on I vowed to never get one again unless it's <25.00)
