I just got an untested Super Cobra PCB off of Ebay and it came with a weird ribbon cable-to-edge card connector plugged into a 40-pin IC socket on the main board, does anyone know what this is intented for? Is this come kind of custom adaptor somebody built for it? If I understand the layout one end is plugged into the location A-1 on the board, I didn't see anything that was clear about it in the manual and the PCB pictured on crazykong.com doesn't seem to have it.

It sounds like you've got a Konami version of Super Cobra. That ribbon cable plugs into a black box that's filled with epoxy. To my knowledge, nobody has cracked the Konami black box.....and you'll need it for your board to work.

It's a Konami, so that figures, grrrrrrr......

Oh well I bought it to see if I can convert it to a Speed Coin board since they almost look identical (one sold on Ebay recently), so maybe all is not lost, it certainly has nothing to lose.
