I have (what I believe to be) an 03 version of Super Breakout (if the hand written 03 is correct). My Q: Is it possible that there should be only two ROMs - or am I missing one? I have 033454-01 and 033455-01. The PDF manual I have mentions a 033453-01 (but the arrows pointing to all three say "04 Version").

The machine powers up with a single audio tone and blank raster on the monitor. I replaced "Big Blue" with one bought from Bob Roberts (it did the same thing prior to replacement, so I assume that's not the prob).

Any tips on where to begin? Can these ROMs be read like a 27-series EPROM or are they some long-abandoned proprietary format?

Thanks

I have a board that is labeled as a -03 as well and it is not populated in that area, instead all of the 6353's are populated and none of them are socketed like on your board.

Have you checked the basics? Do you have a good stable +5vdc to the chips?
