Super Auctions Saturday, January 23rd-Mesquite

Short notice for sure

Like you,I will be there as well. This will be my first auction,so I don't know what to expect...but I am excited to go.

I missed the last one, but will try to make it to this one. Gutsman004 the one thing that you can expect from the Dallas auction is you never know what to expect. Who knows maybe I will bring a couple of games to sell.

Well maybe I'll buy one that you bring to sell...wouldn't that be crazy. Btw,I just started browsing and posting on the forums, and I have to say I've been pretty surprised and pleased with the sheer number of friendly and helpful people on here...it's wonderful.

is it normally just cabinets and pins or are there PCBs as well?

You never know what is going to show up, but they usually is a row of pinball's, 3 – 4 rows of video games, 1 to 2 rows of dead games or empty cabinets, 1 to 2 rows of driver games, 1 row jukeboxes, 1 to 2 rows of redemption games including gumball machines, and at the end of the night a couple of tables of touch screens, and misc parts.

I am planning on going. I wonder how the short notice and no listing on the website will affect things. I'm hoping it will be high on items and low on bidders!! Probably low on both ends.

I hope to make it, but I agree in that I also believe that it will be a small auction. I don't understand why SA hasn't listed the auction on their website.

I know this will be hard to pin down, but what's like a rough average price-wise that you've seen working games/dead games/empty cabs go for? I wouldn't mind picking up a dead game that I can fix up or an empty cab for a project, and was curious as to how much cash I may have to throw down for them.

There are going to be some huge ranges there. I'll give it a shot. For an empty cab, I'd say less than $50. For a non-working cab, I'd say $150 max, but probably less than $100. For a working machine, anywhere from $50 to $1500.

It all depends on what games are there, who is there bidding on them (and driving up the bids), where the machine ends up in the rotation (that first game is going to go for more than it should!), etc. If you want an empty or non-working cabinet, those won't go until later in the day. When exactly depends on how many machines are there. Like I said earlier, I would guess this auction will be on the smaller side so you might not have to wait too long for those to start.

Sweet! That will work. If I could pick up like a non-working Galaga,SF II,or Contra or maybe ones that work but need some TLC,that'd be sweet.Hopefully the short auction notice will lead to some great deals!

If you're looking for an SFII (non alpha-2) there are normally some there and most people aren't too interested. You never know.

Awesome,I'll keep that in mind.Hopefully I will see one up there and can get it for a good price.I have a feeling that I may go over my planned budget, heh. What about Galaga games? Do you normally see a lot of them? Working or otherwise?

I use to see anywhere from 2 - 6 Galaga's but those days are over. If we are lucky there might be 1 or 2 but you have to watch out for the shell biding that you be going on.What the auctionner and the assistances during the bidding to see who is driving the bidding up, but will end up backing out at the last second. Also be prepared to see alot of multigames for sell as that was the trend last years auctions.
