super auctions in socal

I did not go to the last one but there was a thread on it. It was probably the worst auction they've ever had around here according to those who attended. One person mentioned that SA had a load of games coming from AZ that did not make it in time.

I rarely buy anything at those auctions but it's fun to play the working machines for free for a few hours and BS with the regulars...

Having it all the way in Colton seems crazy, though. I doubt I will drive that far for an auction.

The last one really really sucked. Worst one I have ever been to. And its been years since the auctions have had a decent selection of classics.

these auctions now are really just so sad :(

makes me miss the good ole' days of the costa mesa auctions.

old school super auctions......... you will be missed!

yeah costa mesa was great i remember they had one auction that had the inside and outside full out games and went to at least 1:00am. Powermeup bought 14 pallets of stuff we hauled 3 truck loads out of there

heres what i found on the los angeles craigslist for the colton super auctions :

This is a list of the arcade and pinball machines that we will be bringing to the SuperAuctions arcade and pinball auction on the 13th of November in Colton. We are not associated with Super Auctions but will be consigning these machines for sale. If you want more information regarding the auction please visit the super auctions website at www.superauctions.com. If you want more information regarding the machines please contact me. The machines are currently located in Reno Nevada. All machines will be shopped and are basically in very good shape. We do not get the wear and tear of the machines located in Southern California.

Despite the long drive - I'm thinking about it...haven't commited yet. That CL ad doesn't make me hopeful...whenever auctions are mostly consignment, the buyer is pretty much guaranteed NO GOOD DEALS. Consigner will always bid up their own stuff.

So - I dunno....has anyone heard anything else about what's going to be there? All consignments, or some actual stuff that's TRULY being auctioned?

I have never been to an auction for games and this isn't too far away for me so I'm thinking hard about going just to watch.:)

you can play the games for free for two hours before the auction and BS with the other people there. it's not a bad way to spend the morning.

Well, I've decided to blow this off....don't feel like making the drive to bid against consigners on their own stuff....and I'm better off spending that time working on my last few projects rather than getting a few more.

If anyone goes, let us know how the prices are! Take note of the pin prices, please. :)

Just got back, being my first auction and not wanting to dick around I set my sights on just buying a Ms. Pac and lucky for me they started the auction on the working Ms. Pac's.:D
I actually bid and bought the first game they sold, got it for $100 + $24 with the fee's, not bad for a working but needing help game, I didn't stay as I couldn't, I would say there were a lot of games there but hey it's my first time so maybe I'm wrong...:p
Met a couple KLOV'ers that I had recognized from their work here (Vector Invader, saw him shooting video and put 2+2 together...:p and more that I couldn't name)
Sorry I can't help on the pin pricing as I was gone long before, gotta say the only thing I noticed that there were no vector's (which I luv), and No Nintendo cabs that I could see.
Had fun will have to do it again sometime.:D
