Super auctions Colton, CA Aug 21

I was planning on going, though all the way out San Bernardino tests my resolve... The previous location in the center of LA was so much more convenient.

So happy that this auction is in Colton and not Compton. Such a long drive to Compton. Colton is about 30 minutes.

I was in Colton today at the waterpark. Jesus was it hot out there.

I wonder why they made the switch, that place in Compton was actually a really good location.

I was at the captains warehouse earlier today, and they said that superauctions was going to stop having auction in so-cal! Apparently, that's what the owner of SA told them. My guess is, since the captain's auctions involve most of the local OC operators, there isn't much left for SA. I don't think I'll be taking a 2 hour drive each way when I am not lacking in games and projects currently. If I knew there would be like 10 warlords cocktails in minty condition, I would go to pick one up. But, seeing what the past few auctions have been like, I think I'll pass.

There is no money to be made here, that's why they are not having auctions anymore.

As has been said here numerous times, a lot of the Captain's games are shill bid and end up for sale over and over again. There are some deals there, for mostly non-working classics and some newer pieces but nothing like the SA's of old.

Probably the worst of Super Auctions so far. I showed up around 9am and there were a total of about 8 pinballs, and 15-20 arcade games. The only 19" cabs were a Ms.Pac, Defender, and After Burner. The rest of the stuff were 25" crap and larger simulator $hit. Oh, there was a Daytona single.

If you were looking to buy a Piano or buy a whole bunch of player piano rolls, they had a cr@p load of em. I left before the auction even got underway.

Talked to a long-time associate of Super Auctions, some of you may know him... Larry. It had been a while since I saw him at an auction and so we talked of the good ole days in the late 90s in fullerton.

Supposedly, today's Super Auctions was to have around 90 games come from Arizona but there were problems with an estate so the trucks were stopped....hence the lack of games to bid on.

Anyone buy anything?

I went to the SA auction...what a disapointment. At least it was only 25 minutes to drive over there.

There were plenty of idiots (newcomers) to bid up the machines though. I think they will be back in November, shown on their website. No good deals to be had today...

Prices if I remember correctly, before 15% fee and 8.75% tax rate.

Defender $275, Soul edge $200, 1944 $155, Capcom vs SNK Millenium Fight 2000 $225, Ms Pacman $225 -monitor was crappy, Afterburner $150, PGA golf (played blind) 155, and a few other non-working machines that went for over $100.

Pinballs went for the normal amount. Southpark $1200. The Shadow $800. World Cup Soccer $700. There were about 3-4 others not worth mentioning...don't really remember actually.

Machines went for double what they normally go for when in Compton. I picked up 3 Gateway all-in-one PCs for about $20 a piece only to find out the ac adapters are $50...lol. That's what I get.

I actually paid $125 for the Afterburner and it is in pretty decent condition. Having some fun with it right now :)

Actually, the control stick doesn't turn right so it is presenting a bit of a problem as you can imagine. Anyone have any idea how complicated it is to fix a control stick problem on one of these? The shaker has been turned off and I see no calibration options in the admin area?
