You should post a list of what you have in your arsenal. More orders please! :004_ssmile:

Great..!

Looks great!

Now..are you painting it black or adding the black vinyl on the sides, or is he doing that when you get it to him? Just curious..

Also..what are you charging..?? Not to be too nosy, but you never know when I might want a brand new cab...LOL

Great work though...really!

That's all up to supadave lol I have vinyl for mine, but at 125.00 from arcadeshop it's not enough to do it correctly, you can't do everything that was covered originally. I am going to have to buy more to do mine when i get time. I haven't come up with a price yet, i have some metal parts in the works to be included with the DL cabs.

Dave and i made a trade for this one :)

After the holidays is cool.. i am pretty much full up till Feb.

Cabs i can do..

Dragon's Lair
The Last Starfighter
Galaga
Joust
Robotron
MsPacman
MsPacman Cocktail
2 different mame cabs
Tron

Up Next:

Crystal Castles
EDOT
Q*Bert
Pacman

Minis would be great, but getting artwork and the other parts would be a PITA. You would basically need a doner machine to swap parts from.

Wow!! I just got to this thread and nearly crapped my pants.. That is some mighty fine handy work there..

My first plan was to paint it black and go the cheap way out but I am going to have to re-consider now that I see it. I would like to go Vinyl and do it right. I think it would be a waste of a good cabinet if I didn't.

Awesome work DPtwiz.. Can't wait to see it even more finished with the metal brackets and such. :001_sdrool:

Yeah... its ashame that the vinyl for the DL cabs is so expensive. When I was building DL cabs back in 2001-2002, I was vinyling both inside and outside on the side pieces of the cabinet. It added to the cost and added to the work, but I wanted these cabinets to look as original as possible. So the insides had to be vinyled before the cabinet was put together, and before the side blocking was applied.

Looking back, it was a lot of work! I wish I had the time today like I used to back then to build these cabinets. But unfortunately I hung up my router in 2002. :)

Here's a cool pic of a bunch of my Dragon's Lair cabs from 2001 right before a shipment went out.

Very nice work. You should consider putting the vinyl on the inside before putting the cabinet together unless they want it that way. Adding the vinyl to the inside after it's built will be a PITA.
Ever consider selling a DL cabinet as a kit, all precut wood unassembled. Would that cut down on shipping cost any? Just a thought.:D

(A) What are you charging?

(B) Would you be willing to cut out the pieces and ship them disassembled with instructions? If so, what do you think the shipping would be?

the one or two places i checked shipping was about the same as disassembled vs assembled. It may be the same price if it was 3 cabs disassembled. Nice work DLP! i loved those pics when i saw them before. The blocking is a total pain in the ass, i had a LOT of rework adjusting blocks even with an original here.

I really need to spend some time and cut out a template out of 1/2" with all the blocking and panel holes cut into it, so i can clamp it to the sides and get perfect placement.
I wish another klover on the western side of the country had the interest/skill/cash to pick up a cnc setup like mine.. i could have someone out that way doing cabs and save on shipping for distance. 12K is about what i have in mine ready to run. As you saw in my out of space thread, no room is killing me. I have zero room and bringing home 4 more cabinets this saturday F*CK!

But you have "mad skillz" with the power tools, so please keep going ...

We need to see more cabinets ... would love to see one of the MAME cabinets you are building!
