The reason for the controller ports is that it can also be hooked up to a TV and played like a normal console.
First impressions: There's a high pitched noise constantly when it's on and the viewing angle for the screen is really weird. Like you don't look directly at it, you tip it down a little. Seems odd. It's comfortable to hold, there was no screw holding the battery cover on.. but maybe it's because it's a test unit? Why would there not be a screw in the test unit. There's a green LED on the bottom that I don't know what is for because it's labeled "LED".. low battery maybe? The sound is quiet.. but it's loud in here with the music playing and 22 arcade games going.. headphones sound good besides the high pitched noise which was present in both Mario Kart and Super Mario World. It comes with a little bag to keep it in, a power supply, some AV cables to hook it to a TV...
I don't really get the noise thing. Other than that, I'd say it was a good product, the other things are just nitpicking. After playing it a bit the viewing angle is pretty comfortable and how I would hold it anyhow.
Here are some bad ipad photos to enjoy. As you can see I have test unit 37.
